Taos, NM Wedding Photography

Carmen and Nick’s traditional wedding in Taos, NM honored both of their heritages. It was gorgeous, thoughtful and full of good cheer despite taking place in the middle of a global pandemic. Carmen approached me last year about engagement and wedding photography and knew right away that we would click when she asked if they could have their engagement shoot at Diablo Canyon near Santa Fe, NM. Both Nick and Carmen are avid rock climbers and their enthusiasm for an engagement shoot in the stunning canyon popular for rock climbers spoke to my wilder side.

Months later, as the world seemed to be falling apart, Carmen maintained excellent cool as she had to single handedly re-schedule and re-plan their 300 person wedding for 15 people three months later than hoped (all while getting her PhD - talk about badass!). The new wedding took place in August and Carmen and Nick were able to pull off an amazing, meaningful and intimate event that was also live streamed for the guests who were not able to come. The ceremony took place at the San Francisco de Asís Mission Church, a 200 year old church in Rancho de Taos. The reception took place at El Monte Sagrado in Taos. my all-time favorite hotel because of it’s attention to detail and beauty. The hotel grounds provided ample opportunity for photos and the outside of the church was a lovely backdrop to wave at the drone live streaming the event for the rest of the guests. Dinner and dancing took place and laughter could be heard into the night from the overjoyed guests who were able to come in person.

Carmen and Nick are one of those couples that make you feel good just by being around them. These two are incredibly caring and sweet. It was a lovely union and I am honored to have been a part of it.
